I had and loved this book's sister, 'Monster at the end of this book', as a child. I had the book for my kids which made it through my first two unscathed. When my last child (2 yr old) go a hold of it, that was the end. So this board book was a great solution. I got it's 'sister' in the board book format also. I just love the drama that Grover (and Elmo) provide in this book.
Typical sequel -
This book was fine for the price; however, it didn't surprise me that the sequel was not as good as the original! Had I been able to read this book prior to purchasing it, I would not have purchased it.

The original monster at the end of this book was one of my favorites as a child and my 14 month old son loves it too, so when I saw this book I was excited to get it. It is so bad I can't even read it to my son. They try to copy the original, but they tried to hard. Adding Elmo doesn't help. I was very disappointed with the book.
