Worth trying! -
Not bad. I am currently about halfway through my first box of Zicam; I started it about two days after symptoms appeared, but it still seems to have helped (I apply it about every 4-6 hours during the day). It's especially nice that it's non-drowsy and doesn't just target the symptoms, though it would still probably be fine to use with traditional OTC cold meds if you really felt awful. I haven't experienced any stinging or other discomfort. It's a nice alternative for those of us for whom seeing a doctor is inconvenient or not possible, and who prefer to use something besides antibiotics.

Usually when I get a cold, it quickly intensifies to a pretty miserable state, but this time the symptoms have stayed very mild and manageable. I'd have to use this product on a couple more colds to be convinced, but it seems to have helped enough this first time that I will definitely try it again.

Really Works! Highly Recommended! -
With two school aged children in the house, my wife and I tend to get new and exotic colds every year. This year we started using "Zicam Swabs" and can honestly report that they do indeed reduce the severity and duration of a cold. Use them as directed and you will have much reduced symptoms!

Zicam a great product if used correctly -
I love this product, especially in the nasal swab form. Used as directed and as soon as the first cold symptoms appear, not skipping doses, it truly reduces the severity and duration of a cold. If you use it hit-and-miss or wait until your cold is already well-established, it will not work.

Swabs Superior To the Spray Version -
I have used zicam several times and it will dramatically reduce the severity and duration of a cold when used consistently over the course of a few days. For sanity reasons, I prefer the swabs. The swabs are disposable so you can "share" the box and you are not recontaminating yourself as you would with the spray bottle. In addition to reducing cold syptoms, some small studies have shown that zicam can also be effective against Staph and Pseudomonas bacteria in the nose and sinuses - although the product does not make this claim.

DOES EXACTLY WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO -
This stuff has been a real help. I am a freelance artist and have immune system issues. So if I have to go to a studio where some jerk decides to come to work with "just a cold", I know I will probably get it and it will definitely NOT be "just a cold" for me. It can literally be a killer for people with shaky immune systems. Before I used this stuff, I almost always used to wind up with complications like sinus infections, bronchitis and occasionally pnuemonia. I use these swabs or the gel, along with vitamins and herbal supplements, the fluids, rest, etc. and have seen consistent results in the form of VASTLY reduced time being sick, less severity of symptoms and most importantly, VASTLY reduced instances of complications.

I can't tell you how great I think this stuff is. I can't imagine that some people might find it to be irritating or have adverse chemical reactions. That's usually me! I've found it to be neutral or soothing to the point where I don't need any other nasal sprays.

But who knows--If it's burning your nose, rinse it out!
