Love the back joy. -
I use the back joy while setting at the computer and also watching tv. It really helps with neck and shoulder pain.

good on hard surfaces, not so good in bucket seats -
I've had this product for two months. I liked its size and portability - it fit in my daypack so I could take it on the plane. Just as the instructions say - it works best on a hard chair. I used it in the rental car and it helped some, but the stiff foam of the BackJoy is not quite stiff enough, nor does it raise my hips higher than my knees, which is what I need for my hips and lower back.

On a firm surface it definitely brings you into a more upright position, on your "sit-bones".

It is just what I needed -
I have a desk job. I work in three different offices, and all of the chairs are uncomfortable; every night, I had muscle pain in my legs and my back hurt from sitting in those chairs all day. A friend suggested the Back Joy. I checked it out on-line, but the description sounded too good to be true. And $50 seemed like a lot of money for such a low-tech device. But because my legs and back hurt so much, I ordered one and paid extra for faster shipping. I got it four weeks ago.

When I started using it, my legs felt better the first day. After several days, my back felt a lot better, and now, I have no pain even after a long day. I tried it at home, but I have soft comfortable chairs at home, and I mostly sit in my recliner, which does not lend itself to using the Back Joy. Then one day I forgot to bring it to work with me and I really felt the difference that night -- my legs were killing me.

Now, I just leave it in my car in the driver's seat, which is also more comfortable with the Back Joy -- I can drive longer without getting leg or back pain. I take it in to the office and use it all day, then put it back in the car. When I go to meetings in the community, I bring it in and use it there, too. It works best in hard chairs; I can now sit in plastic chairs for long meetings, without discomfort. It is worth the price.

End of spine pain -
A year ago I had back surgery on L4-L5 and it was intended that I would be having another surgery on the tailbone when the first one healed. Meanwhile I sent for 2 BackJoys and kept one in the car and one in my computer chair. After using the 2 Back Joys for a few months I no longer have the tailbone pain. It had been like sitting on a fire cracker for years. Three months ago my husband fractured a vertebra in his lower back. I put my computer chair Back Joy in his recliner. His back has healed well but now he is used to the Back Joy. So I am ordering myself another one for my computer chair as I am beginning to get discomfort again in the tailbone area after not using a Back Joy for a few months.
This is a really well worth it product.

Backjoy does what it promises -
I bought two Backjoy orthotics about a year ago, one for home, one for office. After sitting a long time, I used to get up with low back pain and hobble along for awhile. After using Backjoy, no more pain-- none. My wife has been pinching my home unit, because she's found that it frees her from sciatica after sitting. I'm now getting one each for my wife and my father. They may not help everyone, but for sciatica and similar low back pain, they are worth every penny and more.
